Despite enormous sourcing progress over the past few years, one could easily conclude that hiring managers have not gotten better in helping companies hire more top performers. In fact, some would contend that they have gotten worse. Most managers believe that hiring top people is easy and all of the best people are standing at your front door just waiting to apply. With this “candidates-a-plenty” attitude, and the mistaken belief that competency can be assessed quickly, good people are excluded before they apply and are often misjudged even if they do. To correct this problem we have created a course for the 500-pound gorillas in your room. You now have a chance to preview it with an option to bring your gorillas, but keep them chained and in tow. Specific topics presented at this “giving your hiring managers a dose of reality” webinar include: 1. What top performers think of your managers 2. How top performers look for new opportunities and what they’re looking for 3. How and why you must convert jobs into careers if you want to hire more top performers 4. How to use the One-question Interview to convince the best people that money doesn’t matter

The Web 2.0 world is causing many changes in the recruiting world, but there are some basics that every employer needs to pay attention to when it comes to making your jobs compatible. For one thing, the best people are looking for careers, not jobs. Equally important, with the onset of Search Engine Optimization, RSS feeds, Twitter, Facebook wall postings, and the future of SMS/text messaging, employers are faced with how these technologies can help or hurt recruiting efforts online. In this webcast, Lou Adler and Doug Berg will demonstrate how career offerings are impacted by these new technologies and some basic changes that will maximize how career opportunities are treated within these Web 2.0 channels. They will share principles on how to optimize job titles, how to focus on opportunities instead of skills, and what needs to be in the first 140 characters of a job description. Be wary though, you will be blown away in only 140 characters!

The Star Fleet Academy Class of 2387 is preparing its first look at how sourcing was conducted 277 years ago. This was a project conceived to better understand human evolution and how careers were decided upon back then. What’s surprising is that personal choice and freedom still existed in those dark times. While inefficiency reigned, there was a huge movement to improve how information was obtained using behavioral targeting, search optimization, and search engine marketing techniques. Despite the need to input data through a keyboard, significant progress was observed after the great recession of 2008-2009. In this webinar you’ll discover how your ancestors found their career opportunities and why some of you are here today. Specific topics include: 1. Mapping your sourcing channels to the job-hunting life cycle of a top performer 2. Comparing the ROI of hiring the best vs. the rest 3. A cost-benefit analysis for hiring passive candidates 4. Three critical sourcing trends that emerged after the great recession

Once the economy recovers there will a feeding frenzy as the rush to hire the best accelerates at warp speed. But if you have a talent community already in place there will be no need for you to join in the fray. Web 2.0 and Jobs2Web provide the tools today to build your workforce of tomorrow.
In this exciting webinar, Doug Berg of Jobs2Web and Lou Adler will show you what it takes to understand how top performers will think, act, and decide once the recovery gets some traction. Doug will show you how to pull all of your existing relationships - whether they're in Outlook, your CTS, or some resume database - into a centralized and automated talent community using a centralized platform. This "talent community" provides employers with a direct and automated way to market opportunities to their own private supply chain of talent resulting in decreased recruiting costs and an increase in recruiter efficiency.

Consider this idea: top performers explore before applying. Do you let them? What about this: top performers are unprepared, don't have resumes and aren't the best interviewers? And making matters worse: top performers won't go to your career web site or some "name" job board first. After calling a few friends, they'll probably start at Google or SimplyHired.com to look for your jobs. To get a fresh take on this join Lou Adler and Doug Berg at this "high tech, high touch" examination of top performers. The best people, especially those just entering the job-hunting marketing, tend to open to explore career opportunities, rather than ready to accept any offer given. Unfortunately, too many companies rush to hire and clumsily eliminate the best without even thinking. To engage with these top performers, companies and recruiters need to develop targeted messages and provide a means for “exploratory†discussions to take place. Developing deep networks is the first step in finding these candidates before anyone. In this fast-paced session Lou Adler will introduce you to the idea of job hunter typecasting and how it can help you develop a proactive and forward-looking sourcing strategy.

In the best of times, top people - typically gainfully employed - would be open to explore new opportunities if tempted by a recruiter. These same people will not be hesitant to network and look online if their jobs take a slight negative turn. Yet in economic downturns, these same people become quite cautious about seeking new jobs, even if their current one is not perfect. Understanding the behavior of top performers in a slowing economy is critically important for recruiters, and the topic of this upcoming free webinar. 85% of corporate recruiters use job boards as their primary (nearly exclusive) source for finding candidates for open requisitions. Response rates online are steadily declining and both Monster and CareerBuilder report a decreasing number of visits to their sites over the last two years. Most corporate recruiters leave the very best people untouched and don't fully leverage the capabilities of these vehicles to attract the best candidates. We call these candidates "Less Active" candidates and they use job boards and the internet fundamentally differently when looking for opportunities. In this call we'll discuss what corporate recruiting managers can do to help their recruiters more effectively target top candidates on the internet, position their advertising so it is visible not only on the job board where they posted it but also on Google and on the aggregator sites such as Indeed.com. We also discuss the anatomy of a great ad and some changes corporate recruiters can make today to immediately improve the quality of their online candidate pools.
